Historic archaeological site that was once the location of two different plantation houses, both of which burned. This was the birthplace and boyhood home of Carter Braxton, a signer of the Declaration of Independence. In addition to the remains of the plantation houses, there are also remains of Native American artifacts dating from as early as 1200 B.C. The site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
