Since 1964, residents of Akron enjoyed visits to Archie the Snowman, a "personal messenger of Santa" at Chapel Hill Mall in Akron. In 2004 when the mall was purchased by CBL Associates, they permanently removed Archie as a Christmas staple at the mall. In 2011, a group lead by Thomas Uplinger Jr. and David Burkett of Akron tried unsuccessfully petitioning the mall to bring him back. They formed a deal with Akron Mayor Don Plusquellic and former Cuyahoga Falls Mayor Don Robart to bring back a new generation of Archie right here. For the first time in 2012 a new generation Archie appeared here at Christmas time to speak with new generations of children as a part of "Archie's Enchanted Encounter". He went back to Chapel Hill Mall in 2015 but he would return downtown to Archie's Enchanted Encounter in 2020.

Archie appears to talk to children beginning the day after Thanksgiving and until Christmas Eve weeknights from 6-11 and weekends 5-11. As an homage to the old Christmas displays at both O'Neil's and Polsky's, many of the old decorations are found here.
The place is located in O'Neil's Building
