  • Actually--It was a combination road and rail bridge.The former bridges at that site were for separate road and rail as the road bridge(most recent b4--a Bascule lift)was on the Bay side of the Lighthouse.The Lift bridge was combined with a 2 lane passage and the rails being on the Lake side of the bridge.The tracks were removed in the early 80's and the bridge now has 4 lanes for traffic.
