Swaagatham!! Namaskaram!!
I am Vividha, a small parcel of land approximately 4.5 acres in area. I belong to a village called Kota Sirlam in Andhra Pradesh.
Even though my actual birthdate is as old as this earth, my caretakers and present owners tell me that Earth Day is my Birth Day. That is when they took ownership of me in 2014.
From that day, all they have been doing is adding all the organic matter that I happily try to grow, back into me. They say it enriches me with life. I feel that life is coming back into me with lot of earthworms and other soil organisms taking shelter in me. Human food wise, they haven't produced much from me. This year (2017) I've heard them talk about producing some food for their family, who live on the farm, and to try and conserve various native seeds that they have been collecting from various sources. Their focus is entirely to follow natural and organic methods and to slowly include forgotten foods into their diet. Currently their efforts are like a new born trying to crawl. It will take sometime before they start taking baby steps, walk small distances and start running. I will try to document my journey as well as theirs via this platform. Hope you will enjoy it.
OH!! By the way let me introduce my caretakers to you. They are currently a family of four - Mr. Y, his spouse R and their children S and D, supported by family and relatives. Mr.Y was inspired by an article in The Hindu in 2009 about Mr. Kailash Murthy who practices Masanobu Fukuoka's do-nothing farming. Later he explored various other organic and natural methods of farming, visiting few farms with friends and family, simultaneously looking for a parcel of land to farm. At last, they did find me to lead their life with. Their children learn at home. Mr.Y is the lazy thinker and Mrs.Y is the real force who pushes the lazy Mr.Y to act.
That's all for now. Keep following us for updates.
Thanks for visiting us.
Yours,
Vividha and Family.
