A pair of 4-story Italianate residential buildings completed together in 1857 as twin townhouses for Stephen Daniels and William H. Merrill. Both are clad in brownstone, which replaces the original brick. The sills, lintels and doorway entablatures were removed at the time of the resurfacing. They retain their high stoops leading up to round-arched entries on the left. The double-doors differ at each house.

Both exteriors also have segmental-arched windows, with round-arched basement windows (with iron grilles) topped by keystones. At the upper floors the three window bays grow shorter at each floor. The houses are crowned by roof cornices with console brackets and panels, painted black and grey respectively.
