Build by Germans during the WWII, it was later used by the Czechoslovak Aero club and later since 1951 by the Air Force until its closure in 1963 due to proximity with a new built concrete base in Vodochody.

Airport consisted of a grass rectangle 900x900 meters including base buildings. Runways were later marked as 090°/ 270° with dimensions of 100x1200 meters.

Base was later used for non-flying military units until 1992 when it was demilitarized.
