One of the main employers in Port Deposit from 1939 until it closed in 1987, Wiley Manufacturing constructed a wide variety of light ocean going and coastal vessels. It's last major project were the tunnel sections for the Fort McHenry tunnel in 1982. In 1992 the site was razed for a $50 Million townhouse and marina development.
