Made of wood, it is covered with metal(chain links and rivets), on which they are inscriptions with initials of family name or even complete names of personalities living in Sibiu. The statue was unveiled in the Large Square/Piata Mare in August 1915 near the statue of Nepomuk. Similiar statues were inaugurated in several cities of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
All the statues were inaugurated at the same time, in a project of funds raising, Plates, links and iron rivets that currently cover the statue of wood, have been hammered in exchange for money given to widows, orphans and invalids of war.
