Fuji Mountain

USA / Oregon / Oakridge /
 mountain, scenic lookout, summit

Fuji Mountain's summit stands 7144 feet (2177 meters) above sealevel, making it the 10th highest peak in Lane County, Oregon. Like Mount Yoran and Lakeview Mountain to the south, Fuji is a dissected High Cascades volcano, probably around a half-million years old. A trail leads from Forest Road 5883 to the summit. A cupola-type lookout cabin was built on the summit in 1926, and replaced by an "R-6" style cabin in 1959. The lookout was removed (burned) nine years later.
