the speciality of this place is ...this is as like a dam..and there will be 10 gates in each dam gate.. and hence the named as "pathukannu"and one more thing as u can see here 4 roads will be joining....to the right above the road goes to pndi thru ousterri and the right bottom the road goes to pondi thru villianur (my home town)...left above the road goes to thirukkanur and then to villupuram...left bottom raod goes to thirukanur and then to villupuram..will post some pics of the new bridge and the construction
