Moosi reservoir is constructed in 1963 with an objective to provide water to irrigation and potable water to suryapet town. Thousands of hectars of land is irrigated using the water from this dam.

Musi reservoir displaced people of SOLIPET village, who were forced to find new homes at different locations.
Three new vilalges new solipet, Ramachandra puram, rathna puram were formed to accomodate the displaced people. Some people were shifted to forest areas of warangal dist.

Govt. gave land to the displaced families in meager quantities and did not solve the long pending flourosis problem.

Many of the families in this region live under abject poverty and nobody bothers about them.
