Built on the former open-air car park of the Federal Hotel, which was in turn, the site of the legendary BB Park of the 1960's. Plaza Low Yat is named after the founder of the historic Federal Hotel, the late Tan Sri Low Yat. It succeeded at what many failed to accomplish previously. It dethroned Imbi Plaza as the leading IT marketplace in the city. It first entered the shopping scene in 1999, and within a short time frame gained strong prominence as the country's premier IT lifestyle shopping mall. With over 500 retail outlets operating within the 7 themed retail floors, Plaza Low Yat is a complete and indulging one stop destination to fulfill all one's digital needs at exceptional value.

In line with the ever evolving IT trends, Plaza Low Yat is positioning itself as a total lifestyle based IT mall. The non-original software resellers have mostly disappeared after stricter enforcement. Each floor is now zoned accordingly for easier and quicker accessibility, with retail categories ranging from Gadgets, Cameras, Digital Games, Telecommunications & Services, IT Hypermarkets, IT Concept Stores & Service Centers. Plaza Low Yat also have in place, selected non-IT retailers, such as Restaurants & Dining, Bookstores, Fashions, Hair and Beauty, Hobby Shops, etc., to operate and cater to the other lifestyle needs of today's generation of IT savvy shoppers.

After more than 10 years, Plaza Low Yat is still at it, changing, evolving and revolutionizing to keep up with its position as the premier IT mall. Due to its efforts, The Malaysian Book of Records (www.malaysiarecords.com.my/) has come to officially recognize Plaza Low Yat as "Malaysia's Largest IT Lifestyle Mall" in March 2009. Plaza Low Yat is indeed a well-integrated IT lifestyle mall with all the intensity in digital hardware and software, as well as the present day digital lifestyle diversity. The mall is sometimes incorrectly referred to as 'lau yat' or 'lauyat'. It also spawned a popular local tech forum lowyat.net (www.lowyat.net/) (not related or affiliated though).

    それらのラメの店の代りにl337 機械の買物をするラメの余分のために下肢が不自由な部品を販売する最もよい場所は価格に値を付けた。

Full with terrible bloodsucking liars. This place might be full with IT products but all the sellers have made a pack to sell them in premium prices. The cheapest thing here is way cheaper somewhere else.

actually, Low-Yat Plaza should be the english name. In english, "Plaza" (noun) is the posfix, as in "Oxford University","Malaya University". However, in some other language like Malay, "Plaza" is in prefix, like "Malaya University". So actually anyone, esp tankiasu can add language page for this purpose...

actually, "Low-Yat Plaza" should be the english name. In english, "Plaza" (noun) is the posfix, as in "Oxford University","Malaya University", "Shangri-La Hotel", KLIA (not IAKL). However, in some other language like Malay, "Plaza" is in prefix, like "Universiti Malaya". So actually anyone, esp tankiasu can add language page for this purpose... cause this is english description page. (tips: you can use Menu->Add another language for this)

hahaha... 'kia su' (dare to lose) mah... that why he change the name, put his and semi-protect it loh...
  • klranger (guest)
Eh... correction 'kia siu' mean 'NOT dare to lose' is opposite to 'dare to lose'
  • klranger (guest)
To be fair, maybe the founder/constructor of the building have did it wrongly, or aim to other language style in mind. What 'Low-Yat Plaza' emphasis is to encourage and use proper english, not to the reverse. Also since here is EN page.

For those who said the price is 'premium' (high, bloodsucking liars... etc). two question : 1. Are your competitor from other place ? 2. Is so, why not suggest a place where is price is lower than here ? Pls do not post some baseless post. I'm just an ordinary shooper, shop here since 'IMBI-Plaza Age' (since 1990s), occasionally visit I.T Mall at PJ also, and even been to Sim-Lin Square (Singapore) also and Bangkok (Thailand). but does not found the price here is blood-sucking as claimed).

About the wikimapia ranking fault, for what observed, the people who give 'good' count on the (ranking abuser), is from outsider that do not know the place, there saw someone give some name on some place there don't know & thought it is correct and 'good'. For eg, those who give (that famous ranking abuser) 'good' is foreigner or outsider that do not know the place or live there, like from Canada and Middle-east, or Malaysia but not local.
