Formed by damming Aji river on the east of Rajkot city,the place is a good outing destination for the denizens of Rajkot. The reservoir is a main source of water supply to the city besides being a wintering destination for pelicans,gulls and terns in large numbers. The lake is saturated with fish, many of whom are overgrown due to fishing restrictions. People throng the dam site in mornings and evenings for feeding the birds and the fish.
