Gobind Sagar Reservoir


Gobind Sagar is a man-made reservoir situated in Bilaspur District, Himachal Pradesh.

The reservoir on the river Sutlej, was created by the huge hydel dam at Bhakra and has been named in honour of Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh guru.

To maintain the level of water, the flow of the river Beas was channelised to Gobind Sagar by the Beas-Sutlej link which was accompalished in 1976.

This lake is so beautiful and one of the big lake which formed by man ,when the bhakra dam is made ,which is the highest dam in the Asia ,than the water is blocked behind this dam , this water cover the thousand Sq meter area .

Hi, This is Vijay Singh thakur from village koserian, district bilaspur (H.P). My village situated at the cost of the Gobind sager lake, which is made by constructing a dam at Bhakra on the river satluj, which originates from china/tibbat. This lake is amaging in the winter season and many kind of birds comes to this lake.
