Jamnagar is a city and a municipal corporation in Jamnagar district in the Indian state of Gujarat. The city was built up substantially by Maharaja Kumar Shri Ranjitsinhji in the 1920s, when the district was known as Nawanagar. The district lies just to the south of the Gulf of Kutch. Jamnagar has shot to prominence as Reliance Industries, India's largest private company, established the world's largest refinery near Moti Khavdi village.[citation needed] It is also home to Essar Oil, another important oil refinery of India.

  • Jamnagar is also called Little Kashi, There are many religious places to visit. Amoung them is KABIR ASHRAM, Kisan Chowk Jamnagar. Param Pujya Mahant Shree Jagdishdasji Maharaj Saheb is the President of the Ashram. He also looks afer Samarpan Hospital which is one of the service activities of Shri Kabir Ashram. Shri Ramkabir Shanti Gaushala, Sadguru Kabir Laher Talav, and other activities of Kabir Ashram Jamnagar are very famous humanitarian services provided by Ashram without any kind if discrimination of religion, caste or creed. Now a new project of Samarpan Cancer Hospital is about to start in December 2007. This project will cost about 600 Million Rupees. Its a matter of great pride and honour to be a part of this great Institution (its photograph is there at the top). Here, the teaching, training, treatment, research and extension activities in this eternal science of life are being carried since 1946 - 47 when the Royal family of the then state of Jamnagar(Navanagar)gifted us with Shri Gulabkunverba Ayurved College. The famous Vaidya Zandu Bhattji also happens to be from Jamnagar and the musical Adityaramji Gharana of Pakhavaj and tabla happens to be the proud heritage of this city.   • Hello Friends ! It's not easy to define this city in 1 OR 2 lines. But I can say only that I'll never forget this city. Jamnagar is a Centre of Industry. Here people are co-operative ! Here Dry-fruit Kachori is so famous, I like it so much. I'm missing so much JAMNAGAR, bcoz in-now-a days i'm not in this city ! THANKS !
