Two thermonuclear bomb tests conducted by the US as part of project Castle. Union, detonated on April 25, 1954 (GMT), was a solid fuel lithium-6 device located on a barge (13 feet above surface). It had a yield of 6.9 megatons. Yankee, detonated on May 4, 1954, was also placed on a barge. It had a yield of 13.5 megatons, the second highest of any US test.
