In June 2013 Canada relocated its embassy from 6 Muchova to this new secure compound at 95/2 Ve Struhach, near Prague's Bubenec commuter train station. The property includes a purpose-built 3-storey chancery adjacent to a restored heritage mansion that serves as the new Ambassador's Official Residence, which relocated from a large estate at 64 Europa Boulevard.

The Czech Republic is represented in Canada by its Embassy in Ottawa. Canada and the Czech Republic have longstanding and close ties. Canada sheltered Czechoslovak political refugees in 1948 and 1968, and offered steadfast support for dissidents throughout the Communist period. Since 1989, personal and family ties between the two countries have been renewed and strengthened. There is regular ministerial-level contact in organizations such as NATO, the OSCE and the UN. The dialogue has become as much multilateral as bilateral.

Promotion of Canadian values is at the heart of Canadian activity in the Czech Republic. Canadian interest in the CR, as one of Europe's cultural centres, is matched by Czech interest in Canada's bilingual and multicultural mosaic. The Canadian Studies Centre at Brno's Masaryk University plays a coordination role for Canadian Studies programs in the Central European region.
