4-story Romanesque-revival warehouse building now occupied by Metropolitan Lumber & Hardware. It was originally built in 1885 as the Metropolitan Railway Company electrical substation, serving the Sixth Avenue El train that used to run up West Broadway before turning to Sixth Avenue. Although the openings of the facade above the ground floor were sealed and painted with a mural in 1963, outlines of the building’s original flat arched lintels, projecting stone sills, sill course, and dentil course remain visible.

The ground floor features a rough stone facade with three large arches. The windows on the upper floor have been bricked in, and the entire three-story upper portion painted over with a red, white & blue illustration of various tools. A dentiled roof cornice still remains.
