Earnscliffe-Official Residence of the British High Commissioner

Built in 1857 this Victorian mansion was the home of Canada's first Prime Minister, Sir John A. Macdonald from 1883-1891. It has been the official residence of the British High Commissioner since 1930.

In 2009 this property ranked seventh on Ottawa's 'Top Ten List' of most valuable diplomatic residences with an assessed worth of CAN $6.34 million.
