5-story residential building completed in 1829 as a 4-story warehouse with a peaked roof. It was first occupied by the flour merchants Wood & Birdsoll. Both facades are clad in red brick, with three bays of windows (more widely spaced on the longer Peck Slip side). At the left end of the Peck Slip side of the building, an original arched doorway, now filled in as a window, remains at the ground level. The arch is of gauged brick and is ornamented with a brownstone double keystone and Impost blocks. To the right of this former doorway is a small square-headed window. The rest of the ground floor has paneled wood doors of a later period, flanked by ribbed, blue-painted, cast-iron square columns supporting a wood-faced lintel (also painted blue) with a beaded bracket at one end. The corner column is round instead of square. The cast-Iron features undoubtedly date from 1892 when the facade was altered according to the plans of architects Neville & Bagge. The sheet metal window lintels are also features of this alteration. At this time the building was raised from four to five floors and its peaked roof was lowered. A bracketed sheet metal cornice now crowns the building. As a part of the Historic Front Street 2005 re-development project, it was restored and converted to apartments. The ground floor (along with the ground floor of 233 Front Street next door) is occupied by Nelson Blue restaurant.
