5-story residential building completed in 1802 for merchant William Shotwell, the substantially altered since. The handsome mid-19th century cast-iron shopfront Is enriched with ornamented paneled square columns, painted brown. Surmounting the broad cast-iron lintel is a projecting modillioned metal cornice. The four upper floors of smooth-pressed red brick certainly date from the late 19th century. Some of the gudgeons for the 19th century shutters still remain at the windows. The original height of this building is not known, but it was perhaps less than it is today and the building may have once had a peaked roof. A dentiled brick cornice above a paneled brick fascia now crowns the building. A part of the Historic Front Street re-development project, the building was restored and now houses 13 apartments. The ground floor is occupied by Il Brigante restaurant.
