6-story Greek-revival residential building completed in 1854 as a warehouse following the disastrous Novelty Bakery fire that destroyed the previous building on this lot and No. 242 next door. It is clad in red brick above a brown-painted cast-iron ground floor with green wooden infill. The three bays of windows have stone sills and molded lintels. The facade is topped by a projecting, white sheet metal roof cornice with large modillions.
