4-story Georgian-style building completed in 1824 as a 3-story counting house. It is one of the few Seaport-area building to retain its round-arched doorway and windows on the ground-floor. The upper floors are clad in red brick, with four widely spaced windows on the Beekman Street elevation, and three on Front Street. In 1890 the building was raised to four stories and the earlier brownstone window sills and lintels were altered to bluestone. A simple, black sheet metal cornice now crowns the building, and a small black metal fire escape runs down the center bay on the Front Street side. Carmine's Italian Seafood restaurant was on the street level but is now closed.
