Established in 1931, Mac’s Diner has been a landmark on Shrewsbury Street since before Shrewsbury Street was, well, Shrewsbury Street. Back in the 1980s, Mac’s innovation was to turn a diner-by-day into an evening spot for Italian-American dining based on creative combinations of pasta, sauces, protein and vegetables. That formula is now found throughout the city, so it’s easy to forget Mac’s — but it’s still making people happy with solid food and great value.
