Working-class neighborhood in Worcester. Built up on eastern slope of hill around former South Works Wire Mill, located on Blackstone River. Used to be ethnically Swedish, which is evidenced by street names, but less so now. Wire Mill closed in 1971, around the same time the city landfill opened there.
Currently revitalizing with I-90 access, a new elementary school, and home to new Blackstone Valley National Heritage Park.
