estate (manor / mansion land), tourist attraction
The manor was first mentioned in 1469. Later, the manor was associated with the von Hastfers, von Krusensterns, von Vietinghoffs as well as with the von Lilienfelds. The archaic Old Baltic main building probably dated from the 17th or 18th century, comprising several medieval parts (including cellars). A mantelpiece with the internal measurements of 4 x 6 m is most likely the biggest one that can be found in Estonia. A rural municipality government and library are located in the building. By the historical distribution the manor was in Rapla Parish in Harjumaa County. By the present administrative distribution it belongs to the Raikküla Municipality in Raplamaa County.
