Guaranteed Trust Company Building (New York City, New York)

USA / New Jersey / West New York / New York City, New York / Madison Avenue, 654
 office building, commercial building

The site of the now 22-story structure originally housed a two-story Neoclassical bank branch for Guaranteed Trust Company that was demolished when the current building was erected in 1927. By the time the property was acquired by the current ownership three decades hence, Morgan Guaranty had replaced the original bank as the retail tenant on the northwest corner of 60th Street.

The prominent flagship location, an important nexus along the Madison Avenue retail corridor, was home to Calvin Klein, which renovated the entire 25,000-square-foot banking unit in the 1990s. The designer installed huge glass windows when it moved in in 1995. Calvin Klein moved across the street in 2019 leaving the space vacant.
