townhouse, art museum / art gallery

7-story mixed-use building originally completed in 1872 as a 3-story building. It was mostly rebuilt in 2016, with a new facade and new floors completed in 2017. Designed by Faulding Architecture, the new structure houses an art gallery on the lower three levels, while a single-family home will share the 3rd floor with the gallery, and extend upwards through the 6th floor.

In an odd twist, the building has no entrance adjacent to the sidewalk, instead having a private driveway leading to a garage in the building’s basement level. The unusual facade has a white-and-black, zig-zagging, map-like design.
