Hicks & Son bought the property in 1920 and added a sixth floor to the structure for their operations. It was sold at auction in 1932, as the fruit company could no longer afford the mortgage due the to Great Depression. The building changed hands again a few more times, with various tenants, including the National Committee on Folk Art.

The 2-story base and top floor were rebuilt in 1989, and the whole facade was again remodeled to its present appearance in 2013. It is faced in limestone. The ground floor has a central glass door with a white, beveled surround, and plate-glass show-windows on either side. The 2nd floor consists of a light-grey stone panel. The four upper floors each have three slightly-recessed single-windows with projecting sills.
