church, NRHP - National Register of Historic Places, Neo-Gothic (architecture), 1938_construction
The Chapel was conceived by Henry John Heinz, the founder of the H. J. Heinz Company, to honor his mother, Anna Margaretta Heinz. Mr. Heinz, who died in 1919, arranged for it in his will, and his three surviving children added to the bequest. The Chapel was dedicated in 1938. It was designed by Charles Z. Klauder with ironwork by Samuel Yellin and woodwork by Irving & Casson - A. H. Davenport Company.
The Heinz family intended the Chapel to be interdenominational, and it remains so today.
