The Christian and Missionary Alliance is an alliance of Christians who desire to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with a world desperately in need of Good News. Joined together by nearly 20,000 local churches in more than 80 nations of the world, we are committed to fulfilling the Great Commission given by our Lord Jesus Christ: “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:19-20).
We are Christian because we believe and follow Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. We are missionary because we are committed to reaching people at home and around the world who have yet to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ.
The Christian and Missionary Alliance traces its roots to the ministry and vision of Dr. Albert B. Simpson, a Presbyterian pastor. Motivated by the spiritual needs of the metropolitan multitudes in North America, in 1887 Dr. Simpson launched a vibrant ministry of sharing the Good News of God's love and teaching the Word of God. He was joined by people from varied denominational backgrounds who also desired to share this Good News around the world. They were compelled by a sense of urgency to take this message to all nations because of the declaration of Jesus that “the Good News about the kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14).
The Somerset Alliance Church, a congregation of The Christian and Missionary Alliance, has been part of the local community since 1943. It is our desire as a church to be a community of Christians where others can come and receive...
...solid, no-nonsense, Bible-focused preaching and teaching.
...an atmosphere in which each individual can grow to their full spiritual potential.
...meaningful interaction and cooperation with followers of Jesus Christ who seek to show genuine compassion and love, offering caring relationships and opportunity to serve God and others.
