In 1916 the Ray-Jefferson Mine struck a rich vein and prompted the construction of a 10-mile branch of the Idaho Northern Railway up Beaver Creek. The Idaho Northern ran from Enaville to Paragon, about five miles east of Murray. The entire line was abandoned after the flood of 1933. ("Railroads Through the Coeur d' Alenes", John Wood, 1983)
