Locust Ridge I wind farm is located about 3 miles directly north of Mahanoy City, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. Commissioned in 2007, it consists of 13 Gamesa G87/2000 wind turbines with a combined nominal capacity of 26 MW.
The larger and later Locust Ridge II wind farm is located (mostly) to the west of "LR I".
Note: In March 2014, one of the LR I turbines caught fire and was left to burn itself out. Subsequent images show all 13 turbines, however, so it must have been repaired/replaced.
