Cumballa Hill is an upmarket locality in the western part of South Mumbai and is home to the Who's Who of the city.
This locality is famous for the Breach Candy Area which houses the Breach Candy Hospital and the Breach Candy Club.
Peder Rd., one of the busiest road in Mumbai, passes through this locality. This road is flanked by many old stately apartment buildings as well as some new fabulous residential towers. The famous Indian singers Ms. Lata Mangeshkar and Mrs. Asha Bhonsle reside here. Peder Rd. also houses Mafatlal Mansion, home of the Mafatlal family.
Carmichael Rd.is another noteworthy street in Cumballa Hill. It is famous for its beautiful bunglows and its old world charm. Unlike it's neighbour, Peder Rd., Carmicheal Rd. is a peaceful, serene and pristine mile, and is home to some famous old money families of Mumbai including the Modys, Dahanukars, Lalbhais, Birlas, Commissariats, Morarjees etc.
Altamont Rd., which has been voted the 10th most expensive residential street in the world, is also located here and it houses Antilia, the residence of the Ambanis.
