In 1893 and 1895 Dolny Kubin suffered two major fires that destroyed the County House, Jewish Synagogue, Catholic and Protestant church, a few houses and buildings. When they built the new synagogue, the Protestant church was reconstructed and built in Gothic style, newly built to house the county.
