The baseball field at Veterans Memorial Stadium on the campus of Mayville State University was named in honor of Mayville State’s highly successful head baseball coach Scott Berry. The official naming took place during Mayville State’s 2010 homecoming festivities. The baseball field is located in the Al Meyer Sports Complex on the Mayville State University campus, and is part of the Veterans Memorial Stadium. One of the most heralded and respected baseball coaches in America, Coach Berry runs one of the most outstanding baseball programs in the nation. He is a member of four halls of fame and an active participant in local, regional, and national baseball organizations. Berry has kept Mayville State on the collegiate baseball map for nearly three decades, since becoming head coach for the Comets in 1982. Berry’s career record at Mayville State is 799-465. He is currently the seventh-winningest coach in NAIA baseball.
