The former PlayStation Theater (before that known as the Nokia Theater and Best Buy Theater) in Times Square is an indoor theater, owned and managed by Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG), located on 1515 Broadway, at the corner of Broadway and 44th street. The venue was originally built as the Loew's Astor Plaza Theatre, a movie theater operated by Loews Theatres, which opened in 1974 and closed in August 2004. The estimated total cost of the transformation, designed by David Rockwell, was $21 million, with the new theater opening in September 2005. The venue has a large standing room orchestra section, combined with a large area of seating towards the rear of the auditorium.

In September 2010, it was announced that Best Buy had purchased the naming rights to the venue following Nokia's decision not to renew its contract with AEG. At the time of its construction, it replaced the historic Astor Plaza movie theater, which closed in August 2004. The estimated total cost of the transformation was $21 million. Due to the expiration of its lease, the PlayStation Theater closed on December 31, 2019.

It is a 2100-capacity venue operated by AEG LIVE and has the capability to hold a wide array of events, including concerts, live television, web broadcasts, live recordings, award shows and event parties.

The marquee is an 85-foot long LED high definition screen which can display both live and digital video. It is one of the largest marquees on Broadway, and is directly connected to the MTV marquee. Its interactive text messaging capabilities and the ability to broadcast events live from the stage directly to the marquee in real time.
