Theater located at the east end of the base of One Astor Plaza (completed in 1972), at the 3rd floor. Designed by Kahn and Jacobs, the 1,621-seat theater is named after Sam Minskoff and Sons, builders and owners of the high-rise building. Its first production was a revival of Irene starring Debbie Reynolds on March 13, 1973. Over the years it has served as host to musicals, dance companies, and concerts, and hosted The Lion King musical beginning in 2006.
