PRR 52nd Street Station (closed) (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) | abandoned / shut down, train station

USA / Pennsylvania / Millbourne / Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
abandoned / shut down, train station, historical layer / disappeared object

Apparently, this station was mostly used by the servants of the rich people who lived out on the Mainline and Bala Cynwyd. The servants lived in West Philly and I guess the station bit the dust when the servant population turned into druggies and gunnies.

The station had two separate platforms to fit around the Valley Flyover, one at ground-level and one along the flyover itself. It serviced both the Pennsylvania Railroad's Main Line (Amtrak Keystone Corridor) and its Schuylkill Valley branch (SEPTA Cynwyd line).

The station building was destroyed by fire in the mid-2000s and the upper platform was removed around 2009.
