Shallow lake at the bottom of a glacial valley. Indi Lake did not exist until 1967, when the Blackstrap Reservoir Dams were built. Until then, the bottom of the valley was dry and was used as farmland.

The marshy terrain attracts birds and wildfowl of all types. A CN rail causeway bisects the lake.
