Beaver Creek is a place where a prairie creek meets a prairie river. It contains one of the few uncultivated prairies left in Saskatchewan and an area of active slumping along the river, home to an amazing diversity of plants, animals and birds.

Conservation areas like Beaver Creek are set aside to protect and manage important
natural and cultural heritage resources. They are maintained for your enjoyment and
education as well as for future generations.

Beaver Creek has very fragile, sandy soil; therefore the balance between living things and the land can be permanently damaged. Your concern and care for this site will ensure that you will enjoy the Beaver Creek Conservation Area every time you visit.

Beaver Creek Conservation Area is open seasonally throughout the year. Family and friends can experience the sights and the sounds of Beaver Creek along a selection of five nature trails. Subtle prairie habitat unfolds before you on the 4.0 km Orange Trail. Cool shade and fragrant scents greet you within the sheltered creek valley
habitat of the 0.8 km Red or the 1.0 km Yellow Trails. The 0.5 km Blue Trail brings you close to the creek and a chance to view beaver, muskrat or mink. The 1.5 km Green Trail profiles Beaver Creek Conservation Area's human heritage. In 1913 Charles
Gillespie donated the original 24 hectares (59.5 acres) of Beaver Creek land to the City of Saskatoon with the condition it be created into a conservation area. As seasons change, the plants and animals of the Beaver Creek Conservation Area respond with their own unique life cycles. Whether in spring migration and courtship, summer growth, preparation for fall migration, hibernation or remaining active for the winter, animals are in constant motion. An interpretive centre and staff provide a variety of interpretive services to assist visitors in discovering Beaver Creek Conservation Area:

• Custom programs for organized groups available for a fee
