 office building, commercial building

226-foot, 17-story modernist office building originally completed in 1956. Designed by Emery Roth & Sons, it was renovated and given a new facade by Moed de Armas & Shannon in 2007. Besides the new glass curtain wall exterior, the redevelopment included new elevators and new electrical and mechanical systems.

The ground floor is lined with plate-glass-and-metal storefronts, and a main entrance with glass doors at the east end on 55th Street. The two sets of double-doors are below a stainless-steel canopy. The top of the ground floor above the storefronts is lined with a band of silver metal louvers. The upper floors are clad in green glass with thin silver metal mullions. Both main facades have setbacks above the 11th and 15th floors. The ground floor is occupied by a Wells Fargo Bank branch, and Roger Dubuis boutique.
