Burrard View Park houses the St. James Society Cottage Hospice. This heritage building has undergone many transitions- from an orphanage to a juvenile detention center, to a Family Court and, in 1999, to its current use as a place of peace for the terminally ill and their families. The lower level of the Hospice contains a Community Meeting Room that can be booked for use through the Hastings Community Centre.
