  • The temple site from which the place was named. One of the temples is dedicated to five rivers of Maharashtra the major ones being Krishna and Koyna. The former flows southernly and the latter initially north westerly and both meet at a place called Karad. The "five river temple" has five springs which flow together spouting from a "gomukh" (meaning 'cow's mouth')and the five rivers later imerge from their origin elsewhere. The site is considered holy by Hindis.
  • Is it true that this temple is 5000 years old ?
