Residence c. 1898 (1927?) in the Colonial clapboard style occupied by Henry B. Anderson, 6100+sq ft with 8 fireplaces. Anderson was a partner in his father's firm of Anderson, Howland & Murray, and went on to organize Anderson & Anderson with his brother Chandler which became Anderson, Gasser, Ferris & Anderson in 1928. He was president of the Automobile Club of America and an avid yachtsman. Anderson offered his yacht, Taniwha, to the US Navy where he was assigned to use it to patrol New York Harbor. His son lived at the J. Laroque Anderson Residence in Plandome.

Henry Anderson later died in 1938. The 12-room mansion was purchased by Ludlow Kravis, then sold to Aline H. Rhonie, the pioneering woman pilot and artist, in 1946, and again sold in 1951 to advertising executive James M. Cecil.
