Corroboree Rock Conservation Reserve

Australia / Northern Territory / Alice Springs /
nature conservation park / area, stone/rock feature

Small conservation reserve in the Eastern MacDonnell Range with a small loop walk around a central dolomite precipice. Much triodia (Spinifex) grass around and a diverse collection of flowers and shrubs and one small watercourse. The rock itself is considered sacred by local Aboriginal people, and visitors are requested not to climb on it. One face of the rock is thin, with four openings to the other side (see photo).
