Opened on the site on the former Colonial Theatre (the renovated and reopened incarnation of the Iroquois Theatre, which had a massive fire on December 30, 1903 in one of the biggest fire disasters in American history), this theater opened in 1926 as a film theater, but ultimately closed in the 1970s. It was renovated and restored as a live theater in 1998 under the sponsorship of Ford Motor Company.
