This used to be a General Motors van plant until 1996 when Lebovic Enterprises turned it into a big box outlet centre. At just over 400,000 square feet, the centre's anchor tenant is the 16-screen Cineplex Odeon theatre which occupies 57,000 square feet. The theatre opened October 20, 2000 and seats just over 3,300. Other stores include Canadian Tire, Old Navy, Tip Top Tailors, Roots, Danier Leather, Globo Shoes, Tristan America, Carlton Cards and La Vie En Rose. Restaurants include Casey's, East Side Mario's, Mr. Greek Junior, The Beaver & Firkin Pub and a chinese buffet restaurant.

  • The General Motors van plant closed in 1993; it just took several years to develop. Lebovic Enterprises gave its name to the avenue that runs down the middle of the development. It's pronounced with a short O sound (like in "Bob"), and with the emphasis on the middle syllable, at least according to the automated announcement system on the TTC's 34 Eglinton East route.
  • Correction: to the east of the development. (The Wal-Mart, now Lowe's, to the east opened at around the same time as Eglinton Town Centre and I have a habit of thinking of the two as the same big box outlet, even though they're not. Of course, now the big box stores have spread to the north side of Eglinton too...)
