Originally the Stakis Ingram Hotel, built in 1968 when the Stakis family dominated Scotland's hotel industry. When the Stakis family sold their empire in the 1990s to Hilton it was sold, and passed through several tenures of ownership.

Today it is part of the Ramada Jarvis chain.
