The clock tower in Elena was built in 1812 by an unknown Elena master. The clock mechanism itself and the bell were bought by Feizi aga, a resident of Tarnovo, "for good". The bell was cast in Gabrovo, as evidenced by the inscription on it. The tower was overhauled in 1857 or 1858 by the famous Elena master Tsoncho Ustabashi, fortified in 1953 and completely restored in 1987.
